Our Members - Some of them Teresa Swaine began dancing at the age of three performing in many shows and qualifying up to teacher status while running her own dancing school for a few years. She joined CLOC at the age of 16 and has appeared with them every year since then. She has enjoyed taking many roles in both pantomimes and shows including Maid Marion in 'Babes in the Wood', Ann in 'Half a Sixpence', Mrs Molloy in 'Hello Dolly', and last year Annie Oakley in 'Annie get your Gun'. Teresa'a favourite show is 'Me and My Girl'. She is actively involved behind the scenes and is currently Vice Chairperson for the company and choreographer for many shows. Bruce Aveling
has been with CLOC since 1978 and has been on stage since 1990. He joined, following in his fathers
footsteps, as a non-acting member working backstage. Enticed onto stage in 1990 to Play Tin Man in
Wizard of Oz he has remained an Acting member. Bruce has played many leading roles including Gaston
Lachailles in "Gigi", Will Parker in "Oklahoma", Nathan Detroit in "Guys & Dolls" and Frank Butler
in "Annie Get Your Gun" as well as many pantomime roles. Bruce also works backstage, with 'SHAFT',
for this and many other companies, in various capacities including Stage Manager, Fly Man and Sound Engineer.
Peter Osborne joined CLOC about 11 years ago. Since then he has taken part in about 28 shows, many of these parts have been taking a leading role. He has enjoyed the last two pantomimes especially through playing the Dame and is expecting to continue that new tradition in the next pantomime. He attends every week along with his wife who also shares the same hobby. John Biddell has enjoyed a long association with the performing arts, particularly in the world of singing. He started as a boy soprano, training with the Royal School of Church Music in his home church in Leigh-on-sea, Essex. This music association has sustained him into adulthood and eventually lead him into music theatre, making his debut in 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat' as the dynamic Pharaoh. His credits includ: Don Quixote / Cervantes in 'Man of La Mancha',Henry Higgins in 'Pygmalion', The title role in 'The Importance of Being Earnest' and Badger in 'Toad of Toad Hall'. 'High Society' was his first production with CLOC. Phil Winship started dramatics in 1985 with Tudor taking a chorus part in 'Annie Get Your Gun', got the bug and joined CLOC to take part in the enjoyable show Camelot. From their Phil took principal roles in 'Desert Song', 'Kiss Me Kate' and now 'High Society' as well as a multitude of shows in the chorus. Phil loves to do Pantomimes having played the Dame in Robinson Crusoe and previously the Demon Discontent in Mother Goose. Charlene Walker started performing at a young age, where she took parts in school shows. At 15 she joined Miraculous Light Theatre Company, where she played a wife in 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat'. Her other shows have consisted of 'Godspell', 'Cabaret' playing a Kit Kat girl and 'Scrooge' as the ghost of Christmas past. At 16 she went to Sutton Coldfield College to do a BTEC first diploma in performing arts and the following year the BTEC National diploma in Drama. At 17 she joined CLOC and has since played Charlotte in 'Oliver', Beauty in 'Beauty and the Beast', Wicked Witch in 'Hansel and Gretel' and Gretel a little sister in 'Annie Get Your Gun'. Members are invited to write their own short biography relating to their stage experience. They may also wish
